AMF (ACES Metadata File)
An AMF (ACES Metadata File) carries a whole color pipeline as portable metadata: the working space, each clip’s IDT (input transform), the LMT (your show look), and the ODT (output transform), all in a small XML sidecar. Hand a VFX vendor the plates plus the AMF and they reconstruct an identical pipeline rather than eyeballing your intent. It’s the pipeline design written in a form software can read — the machine-readable companion to the human-readable show pipeline document. Part of the ACES ecosystem, it’s how a scene-referred show stays coherent across facilities and countries.
