Primary correction

A primary correction is a global adjustment — it lands on every pixel — that makes an image technically right: correct exposure, neutral color, sensible contrast. It’s distinct from a creative grade, which adds an intentional look on top. Confusingly, both often use the same primary wheels, so the difference is intent, not tool. Correct first, always; a look built on an uncorrected image just amplifies its problems.
