Rec.709

Rec.709 (often paired with Gamma 2.4) is the color and contrast standard that normal screens — TVs, laptops, phones, YouTube — expect. Normalizing means converting flat log footage into Rec.709 so it looks correct on an ordinary display: blacks at black, whites at white, color alive. It’s the default output target for nearly all beginner delivery.
