BLG (Baselight Grade)
A BLG (Baselight Grade) is a portable container that carries a grade with its color-space metadata, so a look can round-trip through Nuke, Flame and back and come home intact. It’s the Baselight ecosystem’s answer to the VFX interchange problem: rather than baking a look into pixels, a BLG travels alongside the plate as editable grade data that FilmLight’s plugins can read and apply in other applications. Alongside T-CAM (the render) and OCIO (the open color-management config that unifies spaces across a facility’s tools), the BLG is one of the three terms that make you Baselight-literate — enough to walk into a facility that runs it and understand the color plumbing, even before you’ve operated the system.
