Normalization
Normalization is converting a flat log recording into a standard display space (usually Rec.709) so it looks correct on an ordinary screen — the necessary first step before grading. Do it with a defined transform (a CST node or RCM), not by hand-cranking contrast. A conversion gets you to correct-and-neutral; it is not the grade.
