Roundtrip

A roundtrip is the full loop: the editor’s cut comes to color as an interchange file, you conform and grade it, then send the graded result back so it drops cleanly into the edit. The return leg usually means rendering graded clips or a new timeline and often media-managing the project with frame handles, so the editor keeps a little slack on each shot for late trims. A clean roundtrip is the backbone of professional post.
